Hachiko is nothing much but a statue of a dog at the entrance of Shibuya Station. The story of loyal dog Hachiko is sad but a heart moving story. The owner of Hachiko was Hidesaburo Ueno a professor of University of Tokyo. Every day Hachiko would greet his master at end of the day at Shibuya station. Ueno passed away in 1925 but Hachiko continued to come to Shibuya Station every day and waited day after day for his master to return to Shibuya Station. Isnft it a nice story? This is not fiction but a true story. If you are not satisfied with only the statue, you can also visit National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno. to see the actual Hachiko exhibited as stuffing.

Tobacco and Salt Museum - Shibuya

Interested in Tobacco and Salt? The museum has quite a history dating back to 1932. Tobacco has been quite important in the world history spreading as important trading commodity from South America to other parts of the world. In the museum, the origins of smoking, spread of tobacco and history of tobacco are exhibited. The museum is run by Japan Tobacco Inc, who once monopolized sales of tobacco and salt in Japan. Due to itfs history, the museum also has interesting exhibits on salt.

Tepco Electric Energy Museum (Denryoku-Kan) - Shibuya

Operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company, this unique museum give insight on how electricity is generated and how power plant works. Shopping in Shibuya

If you want to just stroll around to do some quality shopping but not so in the high-end, Shibuya is recommendable. Start off with Shibuya 109, mostly ladies fashion, very extreme and unique, if thatfs what you are looking for. Shibuya 109-2 is a annex of 109, where you can find menfs fashion on 5th and 6th floor. If you care for more conventional matured fashion and other items, check out Marui, Parco, and Tokyu Hands, and Shibuya Seibu. If you have plenty of time, and the weather is nice, then it is worth a try to walk to Aoyama. Take a triangular walk from Shibuya on Koendori street, to Yoyogi park, then head to Harajyuku, Omotesando then to Aoyama.
